ABOUT THE ARTIST

Zimka Patel is a ceramic artist working primarily in clay, with a practice shaped by intuition, reflection, and a reverence for the imperfect. She creates pieces that embrace organic form, quiet tension, and the visible trace of the hand.

Her sculptural practice is an exploration of mind, body, and soul.

At the heart of her work is a belief that creating is its own form of becoming—a return to curiosity, presence, and the freedom to make without needing to be perfect.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My work begins with a feeling rather than a form.

Through sculptural ceramics, I explore the spaces between thought and presence, vulnerability and strength, stillness and transformation. Clay gives those internal experiences a physical language.

I am drawn to forms that feel imperfect, tactile, and quietly human. Rather than seeking symmetry or polish, I allow traces of process to remain—an acknowledgement that becoming is rarely seamless.
